PLM
Bombardier and Siemens cooperate
Bombardier, the world's leading manufacturer of trains and aircraft, is working with Siemens to expand its Teamcenter portfolio for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The aim is to optimize its own engineering processes for product development, manufacturing and support.
"An integrated solution based on Teamcenter, covering all engineering disciplines as well as downstream users, could facilitate unified processes and promote collaboration within the company. Bombardier is looking forward to what we will achieve with these capabilities," says Brigitte Larivière, Head of Value Chain and Functional Experience at Bombardier Information Solutions.
Teamcenter provides an integrated, central source of information and data from mechanical, electrical, plant, software and harness programs. It ensures greater transparency and traceability in all phases of the development process. Together with the digital twin and a globally uniform process, Teamcenter offers Bombardier improved information quality within an integrated implementation strategy immediately after implementation.
"The implementation of Teamcenter helps Bombardier to achieve more flexible product development cycles. This is critical in today's highly competitive manufacturing environment," said Bob Jones, Executive Vice President, Siemens PLM Software. "The digital twin provides insight into every phase of the development cycle. The resulting information enables better products that ultimately benefit your customers."
Siemens helps manufacturers worldwide deliver products that meet engineering specifications and performance requirements in terms of cost and schedule. Supply chains are continuously adapted to achieve greater productivity while maintaining a truly dynamic workforce. Siemens PLM Software solutions take advantage of industry-leading practices. As a result, they enable aerospace companies to manage the entire product lifecycle. For more information on our solutions for the aerospace industry, please visit
