Precise measurements in a new generation

With the PMT160U-EDLM, the Dresden-based positioning specialist Steinmeyer Mechatronik presents a measuring table of the latest generation: It is equipped with an ultra-precise measuring system and a dynamic drive concept.

Steinmeyer Mechatronik has developed the high-precision linear stages in the PMT series specifically for the requirements of measurement technology. With high-quality cross roller guides, they achieve unique run-out values, which are particularly important in measurement technology. After all, every small tolerance in the mechanical design of the measuring system reduces the accuracy of the subsequent measured value. The Dresden-based positioning specialist has now added an ultra-precise variant to its product family. According to the company, the new PMT160U-EDLM has the highest resolution measuring system currently available and is suitable for measuring applications with increased requirements in terms of accuracy and dynamics.

Precision at a new level
The drive with ironless linear motor is designed to ensure high linearity as well as high speeds and accelerations - suitable for fast start-stop operation or slow, uniform scanning movements. A special feature of the PMT160U-EDLM is the centrally positioned measuring system, which enables high accuracy with a signal period of 250 nm. The cables are housed inside the casing. This enables a compact design. A granite base is optionally available to further minimize pitch and yaw errors. On request, Steinmeyer can also supply the 160 millimeter wide precision measuring stage fully measured with compensation file in three degrees of freedom at the desired measuring distance. Full compensation of Abbé errors in the system is thus possible. as
