Emergency Shutdown Controller

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Emergency shutdown for high-performance tests

The Emergency Shutdown Controller from Amotronics offers active protection for laboratory systems during high-voltage and high-current tests.

The controller monitors laboratory tests with DC or AC voltages of all voltage and power levels in real time. In the event of a fault, it initiates an immediate emergency shutdown within 1 µs and can trigger further measures.

The emergency stop switch from Amotronics monitors current and voltage values on up to eight inputs in single or three phases. The system automatically detects the start of the test, monitors and logs the progress of the test and reacts in the event of a fault. Disconnection faults during switch tests are detected, as are overcurrent faults. The Emergency Shutdown Controller complies with the test requirements for digital data processing in accordance with DIN EN 61083 for measuring devices and software for measurements in high-voltage and high-current tests.
