Short opening time
Schmidt Technology presents the Smartgate safety enclosure. The advantages of this solution over other safety concepts such as light curtain or two-hand systems are the increased ergonomics and efficiency due to the reduction of required safety distances as well as the excellent accessibility of the process area.
Smartgate aims to set standards in the area of safety by completely sealing off the process area, making unintentional intervention by third parties or injury from splinters impossible. When designing Smartgate, the manufacturer ensured that all surfaces are as easy to clean as possible and that there are no areas where residues or particles can accumulate. The transparent safety glass door elements that close off the process chamber are moved by a drive unit. The power transmission from the motor to the door elements for horizontal opening and closing of the doors is realized by a toothed belt.
When opened, the safety doors are retracted into the interior of the protective housing by a kinematic forced guidance system to save space. The split design of the door elements halves the opening distance, resulting in short opening times. The speed for opening and closing can be adjusted by software according to the respective product-specific joining process. The "door closed" position is reliably detected via two safety switches, which ensures that the process is only enabled when the doors are closed on both sides. When the door elements are closed, the guide system is blocked by an additional interlock. pb
