CIP Security protects critical communication
CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) Security was developed to provide more protection for communication in industrial systems.
Rockwell Automation is now introducing its first industrial control products for use with CIP Security. Technicians can implement CIP Security using the new products as well as firmware updates to existing products. These include Allen-Bradley's ControlLogix controllers, communication modules and Kinetix servo drives.
In addition, the improved FactoryTalk Linx communication software now enables communication between the FactoryTalk visualization and information platform running on a PC and CIP security-compatible devices. The newly integrated FactoryTalk Policy Manager tool can also be used to set up and configure security policies for CIP Security-compatible devices.
