"For what, oh, for what ...
... is this war of any use? Why can't people live together peacefully? Why must everything be devastated?", wrote Anne Frank on May 3, 1944. Unfortunately, this is once again topical. And further: "There is an urge for destruction in people, an urge to kill, murder and rage, and as long as the whole of humanity [...] does not undergo a metamorphosis, war will rage, everything that has been built, cultivated and grown will be cut off and destroyed again, and then it will start all over again."
It's so true, and it took a 14-year-old to tell us that. And yes, it's starting all over again. An indecent political game. And there are people who do not shy away from playing with people, destinies and world peace in order to put their small-minded delusions into practice, to supposedly erect a monument to themselves. To be proud of this is a disgrace that no human being could wish for. These are the monuments that topple very quickly, and they always take others with them.
There is a great willingness to help in the West and a willingness to make sacrifices. We are prepared to donate and take in people in need who have lost everything. That is good and that is how it should be. A side note on this: It is interesting that people like to choose those in need. The people in Syria were sometimes hit at least as badly by the same perpetrator. More discreetly, however, from a distance.
But that does not diminish our current willingness to help and make sacrifices. But what about the latter, will we have the staying power to pull the lever we have left until it hurts? Will the willingness to make sacrifices remain when it gets really cold in the apartment and the car has to stay parked? Are we that idealistic, that determined? "Freeze for Peace" - we could actually achieve something with that.
Meanwhile, amazing things are always happening in this country. Suddenly people are waking up from dreamland. Anyone who would have demanded 100 billion euros for the Bundeswehr this year a good six months ago would almost certainly not be in the German government today. Back then, the biggest enemy of human freedom for many was the FFP2 mask. Many of them have now apparently worked their way through the masks and now support the "brilliant", "flawless democrat". The one who brought us back to reality. As a child of the Cold War, I am not in favor of new armaments. I loved the idea that it could all be superfluous; I was happy to think that we could live in peace and devote ourselves to the real problems of the world together and successfully.
People are slow learners. Perhaps it's time for the renaissance of one-on-one - Klitschko against Putin. Jab, jab, crashing rights. Short, painful, end of work, drink vodka and call it a day. People are capable of reason - but far from rational.
I didn't want to leave that unsaid. So how do I get the hang of the current issue? Not really. Nevertheless, our focus in this issue is on drive technology with many interesting articles and a market overview, which you can find on page 22/23.
Best regards, Your
