Corrosion protection
New Atorn flat key program
With the new flat wrench range from Atorn, Hahn+Kolb offers a significantly expanded range with 15 times greater corrosion protection compared to conventional chrome-plated wrenches.
They are an essential part of any industrial assembly station or toolbox and accompany their users for many years: flat wrenches are used to securely tighten and loosen screw connections thanks to various DIN versions. Hahn+Kolb has now significantly expanded its range of Atorn flat wrenches and given the various tools a new special surface. The environmentally friendly coating is free of chrome VI in the manufacturing process and, according to the company, provides 15 times more protection against corrosion than conventional chrome-plated screwdriving tools. The Atorn tools are just as resistant to temperature, road salt and climatic stresses as they are to contact corrosion caused by other metals. In order to clearly evaluate the resistance, the tools were subjected to a salt spray test for 960 hours in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227 and, according to the company, showed no signs of corrosion. The flat wrenches are drop-forged from chrome vanadium steel and then hardened and are available as double-jaw, ring-jaw and double-ring wrenches. The matt chrome-plated surface ensures a non-slip grip.
