High-performance grinding oils for demanding grinding and milling applications

The manufacture of gears and transmissions does not forgive any mistakes: every flaw reduces performance, every inaccuracy in the workpiece massively impairs reliable power transmission. For manufacturing companies, the selection of the right cooling lubricant is therefore a decisive factor.

With Rhenus CXS and Rhenus CXS eco, the lubricant manufacturer Rhenus Lub provides users with the right high-performance grinding oils. The high-performance grinding oils in the Rhenus CXS family contribute to precise, reliable and extremely economical machining. This makes them ideal for demanding gear, tooth flank and profile grinding as well as almost all milling operations. Rhenus CXS is based on a high-quality hydrocracking oil and is already firmly established among many users in the manufacturing process. Rhenus Lub is now expanding the product family with an alternative approach: in contrast to Rhenus CXS, Rhenus CXS eco is characterized by a completely synthetic base oil.

For Meinhard Kiehl, Director of Marketing at Rhenus Lub, this is a logical consequence: "More and more users prefer products based on sustainable GTL technology. With Rhenus CXS eco, we can now also offer them the right high-performance grinding oil that is based entirely on a synthetic base. What's important here is that, whatever users' preference, with Rhenus CXS and Rhenus CXS eco they are opting for very high-performance, high-quality products that are worthwhile for them."

High cooling and flushing performance

The grinding oils in the CXS family impress with their high cooling and flushing performance. This significantly improves the production quality of gear and profile parts and effectively prevents grinding burn. Both the workpiece quality and the tools used benefit from this, because thanks to the excellent flushing capacity, machine tools remain clean and tool life is improved at the same time. Even when the machine load capacity is fully utilized, the grinding oils work absolutely reliably. This increases production capacity utilization without a drop in quality and reduces process costs.

As the latest member of the CXS family, Rhenus CXS eco even goes one step further, as the combination of synthetic base oil and the special Rhenus formulation provides additional benefits. With a high flash point of almost 200 degrees Celsius, the risk of fire is significantly reduced, which has a very positive effect on work and production safety. Users also benefit from reduced consumption due to a low evaporation loss and can not only grind highly complex, but above all cost-efficiently.

Standard occupational safety, universal use

Good to know: Rhenus CXS and Rhenus CXS eco have been developed in accordance with the latest occupational safety and environmental protection standards. Classified as WGK 1, users are not only provided with the best possible protection thanks to their excellent skin compatibility - the high-performance processing oils also meet all the necessary national and international legal requirements and can therefore be used worldwide.
In addition, the Rhenus CXS series supports users universally. Both grinding oils have been developed for machining low and high-alloy steels - both in soft, tempered and hardened condition. Approved for KAPP form grinding machines, Rhenus CXS and Rhenus CXS eco are also suitable for grinding on Reishauer, Gleason-Pfauter, Junker, Höfler and other machines. The high-performance grinding oils can also be used on all tooth flank grinding machines and are also suitable for milling gears.
