Profile grinding wheels

Deep grinding of ceramics, steels and carbide

Lach Diamant will be presenting "contour-profiled" profile grinding wheels for metal binders at GrindTec. While the resin-bonded grinding wheel requires up to three passes when deep grinding components made of carbide, high-alloy steels or ceramics, the metal-bonded "contour-profiled" profile grinding wheel does this in a single pass, according to the manufacturer.

Abrasive and wheel costs can be reduced by a factor of 8 with the profile grinding wheel.

Almost any profile, whether concave or convex, is possible, even with the smallest tolerances of up to 0.005 mm. Abrasive and wheel costs can be reduced by a factor of 8 - a single profiled "contour-profiled" grinding wheel replaces the set of wheels previously required. According to the manufacturer, "contour-profiled" also achieves time savings of up to 60 percent thanks to higher feed rates per workpiece. sw
