New President
Marjorie Steed heads Cemecon
Passing the baton at CemeCon's US subsidiary: On August 1, 2019, Marjorie Steed succeeded Gary Lake and is now managing the business of Cemecon Inc. Her promotion is part of a planned transition.
Marjorie Steed began her career there in 2006. In 2015, she joined the Executive Board and was appointed Vice President of Operations. On August 1, she replaced Gary Lake as President of Cemecon Inc. who led the Cemecon subsidiary for over 20 years. "This is an exciting time for Cemecon with the growth of HiPIMS and diamond coatings. I am excited and motivated to lead our company into the future," said Marjorie Steed. "We have built a great team here. We will continue Gary's journey and deliver our coatings and equipment with the consistently high quality our customers have come to rely on."
Just two weeks after handing over the presidency to Marjorie Steed, Gary Lake passed away suddenly and completely unexpectedly. For more than 20 years, he was the head and driving force behind Cemecon Inc.
Cemecon Inc. has been supplying North American tool manufacturers with premium coatings and coating technology for 21 years. For a long time, CemeCon Inc. focused on PVD coatings, but since September 2014, the experts in the USA have also been coating cutting tools with Cemecon's world-leading diamond technology. The most recent expansion of the North American headquarters in 2018 to 3,700m2 not only increased the capacity for diamond production, but also created space for the pioneering HiPIMS technology. After 20 years of growth, the company now employs more than 50 people.
