Permanent use in the high temperature range
C. Otto Gehrckens has presented a temperature-resistant high-performance material.
Specially designed for high operating temperatures, the FKM compound Vi 250 provides a permanent seal against the medium air up to 250 °C. In addition, the material has good media resistance and is also resistant to chemicals such as hydrocarbons. Low gas permeability and good resistance to steam round off the material profile.
The lower temperature limit of Vi 250 is -25 °C. The plastic can be used in compressor and blower technology in particular, but also in plant and mechanical engineering in general. In some cases, the plastic is also suitable as a cost-effective alternative to higher-priced FFKM materials.
