New approaches for ventilation technology
Efficiency leap through digital and intelligent solutions
At the Hannover Messe, ebm-papst showed how the future can be shaped in harmony with the values of our time. Application solutions as well as smart and innovative approaches for efficient air technology and the high-speed, oil-free turbo compressors from the high-speed range were presented.
For example, ebm-papst is taking a further step towards climate neutrality in Scope 1 and 2 by retrofitting the cooling and ventilation systems at its German locations. The replacement of 261 ventilation and cooling systems, which started in 2023, is still ongoing and will enable energy savings of between ten and 50 percent in the affected systems, depending on the type of existing fans.
In addition to the savings achieved by replacing the hardware, networking with the digital world provides further added value. To this end, the new fans were linked to ebm-papst neo's own cloud platform via gateways. The solution collects relevant data points, analyzes them and derives value-adding actions from them. In Sweden's housing associations, the fan only supplies the required amount of air and adjusts the air flow even at low temperatures in order to minimize energy consumption and optimize previously inefficient roof ventilation systems. As a result, only a necessary minimum of already heated air is extracted from the building.
The companies Cabero and Heidinger, which manufacture, install and operate condensers among other things, also benefit from ebm-papst's digital services. Thanks to the integrated monitoring of the system, anomalies, optimization potential and contamination are detected at an early stage in order to avoid subsequent problems, plan service with foresight and ensure smooth operation. Demand-oriented cleaning forecasts prevent unexpected service interruptions and avoid unnecessary downtimes.
ebm-papst has expertise in a wide range of ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technology applications and uses its core competencies in aerodynamics, electric motors and electronics to actively drive megatrends such as climate neutrality.
