In 1958, Shufersal opened its first store in Tel Aviv as the first modern supermarket of its kind in Israel. Today, 60 years later, Shufersal is Israel's largest retailer with hundreds of stores throughout Israel. In 2013, Shufersal launched its online store Shufersal Direct, which offers supermarket customers the opportunity to shop around the clock via the website or app and have their purchases conveniently delivered to their homes. Once Shufersal had decided to invest in its logistics infrastructure, an intensive planning phase began with Knapp and the consulting company Programa. In future, online orders from the region around Tel Aviv will be assembled in the new distribution centers and delivered directly to customers' homes.

Evo as the centerpiece

With the logistics solution from Knapp, Shufersal aims to continuously expand its online market share. The new shuttle system - the OSR Shuttle Evo - will be the heart of the warehouse. It connects important warehouse processes and enables fast and flexible order processing. The shuttle will be responsible for goods storage, order buffering and supplying workstations and dispatch areas. The orders are compiled at the ergonomic Pick-it-Easy workstations. According to Knapp, the solution offers error-free order processing and guarantees the quality and freshness of the items throughout the entire process.
