Transported by air
Loads of up to 4,000 kilograms per square meter can be conveyed gently and practically friction-free on an air film on Orimair's fixed sliding elements. This is a particular advantage for soft and sensitive surfaces, as the load is picked up over a large area and not at specific points, explains the manufacturer.
If a load moves over a table made of fixed sliding elements during overpressure operation, the valves located directly under the load open and create an air film there. The elements operate mechanically and oil-free; no higher-level control system is required. The robust and rust-free design is resistant to dirt, oil and mechanical damage. The elements can be used to build conveyor tables or vacuum tables of any size using the mosaic method. A simple side channel blower with an operating pressure of minus 400 to plus 400 millibars is all that is needed to supply blowing air. In the vacuum version, the elements enable flexible and seal-less vacuum clamping with pressures down to minus 400 millibars. as
