Controller and zone display in one control module

With the PTF-ZCTRL2, KBS, a company specializing in pick-by-light solutions, has introduced a new generation of its zone display with controller function. It is suitable for use on mobile picking trolleys, in small systems such as assembly workstations, but also in fixed picking zones.

The new control module primarily serves as a local interface between a pick-by-light system and the order picker and in many cases can replace a PC-based terminal that was previously required in the system.

The zone display offers users a larger color display with a resistive touchscreen. This allows freely definable softkeys (ON screen buttons) to be placed with additional input options. The larger display area also enables the display of barcodes or QR codes as well as text and numbers in multiple lines, different sizes and colors. This in turn ensures better and faster perception of the information shown on the display. The automatic display alignment also enables both horizontal and vertical mounting.

In the zone controller version, the module has modern interfaces such as a direct network/Internet connection (Ethernet), two USB ports, RS232 and the KBS-specific PTF BUS with new electronic overcurrent protection. According to the manufacturer, the implemented controller software can help reduce costs, particularly in small systems such as order picking vehicles or assembly workstations.

An oval, centrally divided eye-catching light (2x7 color combinations) as well as function and correction buttons ensure simple and intuitive operation. With "LTouch", a wear-free acknowledgement or input confirmation function is also available by lightly touching the eye-catching light.

The module can be used as a zone controller on a picking trolley or purely as a zone display in a pick-by-light system, allowing it to be flexibly adapted to the customer's individual requirements. as
