Stable positioning solution

Bahr Modultechnik has developed a highly stable profile axis with a low dead weight especially for use in automated storage and retrieval systems.

By increasing the axial and polar moment of resistance of the axle profile, it is now possible to position higher loads over long travel distances with the smallest possible deformation. With this unit, the manufacturer is further expanding its range of gantry systems in the ELZU series. The overall design of the ELZU gantry consists of two vertical and one horizontal axis, which are driven by a high-quality HTD toothed belt with multiple deflections. This enables low masses to be moved and high accelerations to be achieved.

The surface gantry achieves a repeat accuracy of plus/minus 0.1 millimetres at travel speeds of up to six meters per second and backlash-free change of direction of rotation. Like all positioning units from Bahr, the new toothed belt-driven axes are also suitable for flexible system design and are available in freely selectable lengths. pb
