Iglidur J350

Print wear parts hot and stable

Igus has now developed a filament made from the material Iglidur J350 in order to be able to quickly replace wear parts for applications in the high-temperature range. The filament can be processed within a very short time using a high-temperature 3D printer.

High temperatures are a problem for many wearing parts in systems and machines. If important bearing points fail, this means downtime. The consequence: time-consuming repairs and long downtimes with corresponding costs. Igus has now developed Iglidur J350, a new maintenance-free filament, to enable designers and maintenance engineers of high-temperature applications to quickly print and use their own wear parts.

Up to 180 degrees Celsius

The motion plastics specialist already has the lubrication-free Tribo material in its range of plain bearings and semi-finished products. The material is characterized above all by its high wear resistance and low coefficients of friction on steel. The endurance runner is particularly suitable for rotations and has high dimensional stability at high temperatures of up to 180 degrees Celsius. Medium to high loads are no problem for Iglidur J350. Another advantage: the material meets the fire protection requirements of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for aircraft interiors.

Using a high-temperature 3D printer, the filament can be easily processed on a printing plate equipped with a PET film. Typical areas of application for the new filament can be found, for example, in machine technology, in the automotive sector, in the glass industry and in mechanical engineering.
