New individual components for the automation system
Item has expanded its portfolio to include timing belt and chain deflection units for permanently reliable power transmission. The new components enable perfect connection of motors and gearboxes without hub machining. Another new product is the KGT spindle unit.
What was previously only available as a unit is now available individually: with the new components of the item automation system, customers can put together individual linear units. The new timing belt deflection units, the chain deflection unit and the KGT spindle unit offer an optimum connection to item motors. There is no need to machine hubs, as the hubs of the Deflection Units and the Spindle Unit are available in the right size for item motors and gearboxes. What's more, item's universal drive sets enable connection to motors from any manufacturer.
New deflection units for toothed belts and chains
The toothed belt deflection units with bore D12, D15 and D34 can be used as the basis for linear axes with toothed belt drive and are optimized for different profile and toothed belt widths. The toothed belt can be deflected by 90 degrees or 180 degrees within the housing. While the toothed belt drive is suitable for linear units with high speeds and long stroke lengths, the robust chain drive is ideal for dirty environments. The 8 80 chain deflection unit with D15 bore is now available, which can also be used as a plug-and-play solution for motors and gearboxes.
Linear units with chain drive transmit high forces in the direction of travel. Loads weighing up to 160 kilograms can be moved safely and reliably. The chain drive is also ideal for vertical movements, for example in applications with lifting doors.
Maximum precision
The KGT spindle unit is another innovation that customers can use to configure their individual linear units. The precision spindle enables exact positioning and repeat accuracy thanks to the ball screw drive. Other advantages include high efficiency, maximum rigidity and low mechanical wear. To obtain a complete linear unit, a suitable carriage and linear guide must be determined in addition to the existing drive and the 80x80 KGT profile of the KGT Spindle Unit. The item Motiondesigner design software provides optimum support for the user. The result is an automation solution that is perfectly tailored to the respective requirements.
New LE cables and cover profiles
In addition to the cables already available for power and data transmission in lengths of five and ten meters, Item is now offering additional cables in lengths of 15, 20 and 25 meters. When configuring the complete linear unit via the Motiondesigner, the software automatically determines the appropriate cable. If groove covers on Linear Units KLE need to be replaced, Cover Profile 6 LE or Cover Profile 8 LE are available.
