Simplified data transfer
Siemens wants to simplify data transfer with its Cloud Connect portfolio.
CloudConnect is designed to make it even easier for users to exploit the benefits of cloud-based data analysis, for example to increase the availability of machines by evaluating data as part of predictive maintenance or to develop new business models such as pay-per-use models.
To this end, Siemens offers the Simatic CP 1545-1 communication processor, which is designed for use with the Simatic S7-1500. Siemens is also launching the new Simatic CloudConnect 7 industrial IoT gateway for the cloud connection of existing systems. Instead of connecting each sensor individually to the cloud, the Simatic can be used to aggregate field data and link it with additional process-relevant information if required. The CP 1545-1 then transmits this to the cloud platform.
