Call for AI start-ups
Artificial intelligence to change Europe's energy sector
One year after founding the joint initiative "AI for Green Energy Lab", Schneider Electric and Microsoft are breaking new ground and looking for start-ups that want to change the energy sector in Europe through artificial intelligence.
The selected companies will learn and benefit from the technical and commercial expertise of Microsoft and Schneider Electric during a three-month acceleration phase.
The aim of this first funding is to accelerate the digital transformation in this sector and help European start-ups to advance the development of artificial intelligence. The Inria lab, Sigfox, Elaia, Energize Venture and France Digitale are also part of this program and will each be involved at all stages - from initial discussions to the selection process, coaching, etc. "We are very excited to partner with Microsoft to develop new ideas to help the energy sector achieve a successful energy transition, particularly through AI. Co-innovation projects like this are important to make it easier for the entire energy industry to set the course for a sustainable future," emphasizes Cyril Perducat, Executive Vice President IoT and Digital Transformation Schneider Electric.
For Schneider Electric, this initiative is part of a larger context: Schneider Electric Ventures was recently established to identify, promote and support innovations that make a significant contribution to future sustainability and energy efficiency. Schneider Electric Exchange is a new digital ecosystem launched in April at Hannover Messe that brings together experts and innovators from industry, software and start-ups to solve sustainability and efficiency problems.
The selected start-ups will be presented at the Schneider Electric Innovation Summit on October 2 and 3, 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.
