With the Modbus RTU serial fieldbus, the PKE communication module offers an open and standardized interface that can be quickly and easily integrated into existing systems. Users benefit from the modular concept of the motor-protective circuit-breakers: just as the basic device can be flexibly expanded using plug-in trip blocks, the PKE communication module is also simply plugged in - creating a communication-capable motor-protective circuit-breaker in no time at all, via which the machine status can be fully recorded.

PKE motor-protective circuit-breakers with electronic wide-range overload protection have proven to be an interesting alternative to the bi-metal solution in the current range up to 65 amps. The modular system consists of the PKE basic device and various trip blocks for motor and system protection that can be fitted without tools. This allows the PKE to be quickly adapted to the task at hand. Changes to the switch can also be easily made at a later date, and existing devices can be easily adapted to new tasks.

Wide current setting ranges minimize the project planning effort and reduce costs. Other functions also reduce the effort involved in commissioning and maintenance - such as the test trip, which can be used to check the tripping function directly on the device without having to block a drive. The PKE circuit-breakers are integrated into the xStart modular system - the use of standard components also offers a high degree of flexibility.

The electronic tripping unit of the PKE not only enables large setting ranges, low power loss and precise and extremely long-term stable tripping characteristics, but also provides numerous data on the machine status. This data can be easily made available for system control and monitoring via the new PKE communication module. No matter which trip block is fitted, it can be supplemented by the new PKE Modbus RTU communication module - without the need for special tools or cables.

Simple status data such as switching status, triggering reason or the number of switch-on operations, as well as analogue information such as current flow and thermal image of the machine can be communicated immediately via the open and standardized Modbus RTU protocol. The PKE Modbus RTU communication module allows a network range of up to 1,000 meters and 63 participants, which are simply addressed via DIP switches. No special software or proprietary peripherals are required. as
