While the machine produces fresh popcorn for the visitors, the digital value chain in the production process is explained at various stations. Starting with the milling of a component, the design data is next stored in the PLM system for further work steps. The parts list flows automatically into the ERP system, where it is used to plan material requirements and create work plans for the start of production.

When production of the popcorn begins, production and machine data, such as energy requirements, quantity produced or set-up times, are transferred to the MES system and evaluated there in real time. If the machine reports a fault, this is reported on the smartwatch. Visitors can now rectify the machine fault in no time at all using data glasses and the repair instructions displayed. pb
