Telegärtner connectors
Plugging with high packing density
The new LC-HD duplex connector from Telegärtner simplifies the mating and unmating process in tight spaces in HD distribution systems - thanks to a long, flexible release lever.
This enables telecommunications providers and data center operators in particular to implement a high connection density in a practical way and save valuable space. "The packing density of fiber optic connections has now become so high that the standard LC connectors can no longer be unlocked as usual because you can no longer reach them with your fingers," says Dirk Traeger, Technical Solutions Manager Datavoice at Telegärtner, describing the reality in data centers and large distribution rooms. With the new LC HD Duplex, Telegärtner offers a connector that is easy and safe to handle, even with the highest LC duplex and LC quad packing densities.
The manufacturer supplies patch cables with the new connector in two different cable types. A robust double-sheathed cable with an outer diameter of 5.2 x 3.1 millimetres and a transverse compressive strength of 4,000 N/m and a flexible, particularly space-saving mini-zip cable with an outer diameter of just 3.7 x 1.8 millimetres are available. This has a bending radius of 15 millimetres for single-mode fibres and 25 millimetres for multimode fibres.
The manufacturer offers the patch cables with LC HD duplex ready assembled in customer-specific lengths. The appropriate cable lengths support the efforts to save space. No unnecessary cable overlengths need to be stowed away.
With technological changes, such as those that are commonplace in the world of IT and communication technology, innovative solutions like these are in demand. They support the practical benefits in the increasingly confined spaces of modern distribution rooms and data centers. In this way, valuable space can be optimally and practically utilized. as
