Scanners and mobile handhelds are part of the basic equipment when it comes to the digitalization of work processes in the transport industry. Cipherlab's mobile computers are able to make accurate destination and delivery information easily available to the driver of a transportation company. On this basis, companies can carry out a higher number of deliveries more efficiently than before and also save fuel.

Safety for drivers
For safety reasons, truck drivers should not exceed the maximum daily driving time of nine hours. Compliance with the legally stipulated working hours can be easily recorded by scanning the barcode on employee ID cards. GPS equipment with a bright, clear display and well-functioning barcode reader performance enables drivers to use the barcode reading function over a distance of up to ten meters. This allows them to read the data on pallets and other packages during loading and unloading without having to get on and off the truck and complete their tasks efficiently and safely.

Data analysis and transparency
If drivers collect data during their routes and make it available for in-depth analysis afterwards, this can lead to new business opportunities. For example, the customer's optimized inventory management and the resulting demand forecasts can be used to determine in which season promotional and discount campaigns are particularly worthwhile. This provides a valuable basis for optimizing sales in line with demand.

The smooth and transparent integration of a large number of mobile devices and applications into the complex system landscape of a transport company is a challenge for IT staff. A tool is therefore required that enables simple configuration, deployment and monitoring of hardware and software solutions in a short space of time. To ensure this, Cipherlab provides users with a Wireless Mobile Deployment System (WMDS) with which applications for mobile devices can be deployed, managed and updated wirelessly and simultaneously.

Organizing, storing and delivering
"Transporting goods to the right place at the right time is the core business of all logistics professionals - and our robust solutions reliably support them in doing so, even under tough operating conditions," explains Vita Chang, Director Europe at Cipherlab. "Thanks to their extensive wireless connectivity, they enable efficient coordination of all tasks, even in the field. Their wide range of services includes tracking, identification, administration as well as loading, shipping and delivery management - from start to finish." as
