In recent years, product quality has become the focus of the manufacturing process, especially after costly recalls due to errors in the production process. Ricoh's SC-10A eliminates human error in the assembly of parts by automatically comparing the results of each step of the process with predefined images using the latest image recognition technology. This eliminates the need for preventative measures such as double-checking work.

According to the manufacturer, set-up is simple: all you need to do is connect a mouse, keyboard and monitor. The image recognition software and application integrated into the SC-10A makes this procedure possible. Data such as part numbers or working times can be recorded in real time and used for process analysis, statistics and traceability. Once set up, settings such as work instructions or inspection points for a specific workstation can be copied to other SC-10A devices in plants around the world.

This system is therefore suitable for companies such as manufacturers of measuring instruments and electrical appliances that offer small batches of different product variants.
