Hydraulic acceptance tests
Pump acceptance can be carried out online
At this year's Ifat, the KSB Group will be presenting the newly created "online pump acceptance" to its visitors at a trade fair for the first time.
Hydraulic acceptance tests and a final inspection are essential as proof of warranty for buyers of large pumps. Up to now, customers have always had to travel to the test sites where the pumps undergo their test run in order to accept the pumps they have purchased. As this is usually the production site, this is time-consuming and costly, especially for international and geographically distant projects.
With online acceptance, KSB has developed a process that enables the safe and standard-compliant remote acceptance of a pump. For this purpose, the tests carried out are transmitted live via a specially protected area of the Internet. In an online meeting between pump manufacturer and customer, the latter receives the real-time camera image of the pump on the test field as well as the test progress in the form of a characteristic curve measurement. In addition to pressure and flow data, the test software records all other performance data required for a measurement in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9906 test standard, from which the efficiency of the pump can be derived and assessed. Sound levels and vibrations can also be part of the measurements. sw
