Innovations in pumps and fittings
On February 12 and 13, 2020, decision-makers in the process industry will have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive, compact and first-hand information on the technology trends for core components of their systems. On these two days, leading manufacturers will present the state of the art in pumps and valves to trade visitors at the 3rd Pumps & Valves in Dortmund.
High efficiency, long service life, energy efficiency, minimal service requirements and integration into higher-level control systems: These are the requirements that users place on pumps when planning investments. Energy efficiency is of great importance because around 80 percent of the life cycle costs of an industrial pump are spent on energy consumption. The investment costs only account for around 10 percent.
Visitors to Pumps & Valves will be able to pick up ideas at numerous stands on how they can reduce the energy consumption caused by pumps in their company - for example by using pumps with speed-controlled drives or highly efficient electric motors. Flow optimization also contributes to increasing efficiency. Leading pump manufacturers such as Ebara will be presenting pump series at the trade fair that are characterized by energy-saving operation.
The second central product group at the trade fair - fittings - will focus on networking and integration in addition to the presentation of new series. This is all about digitalization in the process industry. In many applications, for example in chemical engineering and power generation or distribution, the actuators are integrated into higher-level automation and control systems. At Pumps & Valves, visitors can get to know valve series that are suitable for this integration.
New maintenance concepts such as predictive maintenance are being discussed intensively for both pumps and valves. Plant operators who have the ODE ("Overall Equipment Efficiency") factor in mind are particularly interested in such solutions. They will be on display at Pumps & Valves. One example: Ebro has developed "Smart Valve Monitoring", an intelligent electronic system that ensures the proper operation of a valve through continuous monitoring. The valve position is monitored without contact, and wear, blockages and malfunctions on the actuator and valve unit are detected and reported.
Trade fair visitors interested in future-oriented maintenance solutions for pumps and valves will also benefit from the synergy effects with Maintenance Dortmund 2020, which is taking place at the same time. The trade fair ticket is valid for both trade fairs. The ticket can already be booked online on the trade fair organizer's website, where the current list of exhibitors can also be viewed - you can even get a free ticket by entering the voucher code 2506.
