Igus goes on tour with low-cost automation

Want to get to know and touch product solutions for low-cost automation despite social distancing and hygiene rules? To this end, Igus is now sending out a Low Cost Automation Roadshow and visiting users with Robolink articulated arm, delta and gantry robots.

Trade fairs are canceled and customer visits to the offices are only possible under strict conditions, if at all: so how can products and innovations be brought directly to the customer? Igus has asked itself this question and has now packed its innovations and solutions for low-cost automation into a van. "With the Low Cost Automation Roadshow, we can place ourselves directly in the customer's parking lot or courtyard. All interested parties have the opportunity to take a look at our solutions at their leisure. Of course with a mask and/or safety distance, disinfectant and in the open air," says Jacob Geber, Low Cost Automation expert at Igus.

The company will also have a pavilion with it for protection in midsummer temperatures. The roadshow will enable two Igus experts to present products for cost-effective automation to all interested parties: from the Delta robot and the gantry robot to the Robolink articulated arm.

The company representatives will also be presenting visitors with the new free robot control software, which can be used to simulate all kinematics before a purchase and also program them later.

Of course, the energy chains, cables, plain bearings and linear guides should not be missing either. "We adapt our product range depending on the customer visit, similar to our mobile in-house exhibition, where we present our innovations to users worldwide every year. With the Low Cost Automation Roadshow, we focus on the direct implementation of an application at the customer's site, which brings a quick return on investment," says Geber. Thanks to the flexible trade fair concept, the stand can be set up and dismantled in 30 minutes.

Award ceremony at the roadshow
Roadshows are also ideal for special events such as award ceremonies. The company Günther Heisskanaltechnik, which manufactures hot runners for injection molding machines, for example, took part in a competition during the Igus keynote "Designing, simulating, controlling... all from the home office" at the Hannover Messe Digital Days and won a Delta robot including controller. The robot was presented to Dr. Stefan Sommer and Lucas Schulze by Jacob Geber and Julian Ruwe "We are delighted to be able to use the Delta robot for testing purposes," says Dr. Sommer, delighted with the prize. "This gives our dual students the opportunity to get to grips with the topic of automation directly during the development phase." as
