Category 2 - 2nd place: A contribution against Corona
Freise Automation takes second place with an automatic corona test station. The solution allows swabs to be carried out unmanned around the clock.
The collaborative robot HANWHA HCR 5 with the RG2 gripper from OnRobot takes center stage. The system is designed for interaction and collaboration with humans. Forces and moments are monitored so that no injuries can occur with the cobot. In addition, various sensors are used to transmit corresponding signals to the robot via I/Os, for example "Vehicle is here". The test person is instructed - either by a doctor or a guide via an Ipad using Skype or Teams. The cobot disinfects itself after each procedure. The test station has a simple and open design and is therefore designed for all environments and implementation modes. There is no standardized process for contact points for suspected corona cases nationwide; the manufacturer has taken this flexibility into account with this station. Neither a protective fence nor larger structures are required. This robot-based test station can therefore be used in any office space, container or drive-in counter. No previous knowledge of robotics or programming is required. pb
