Tool system for sliding headstock lathes
Tool specialist Horn is presenting its new System 32T at AMB, which complements the three-knife trimmer portfolio with smaller dimensions. It has been designed for sliding headstock lathes and for grooving and parting off on smaller lathes.
According to the company, the tool system from Horn is characterized by a precision sintered insert support and a central clamping screw, which ensures a high level of insert change accuracy and direct tightening into the insert seat of the tool carrier. The neutral grooving insert can be used on both the left and right. According to the manufacturer, the tools can be used for parting off directly on the spindle. The maximum grooving depth is 4 mm with a grooving width of 2 or 2.5 mm. The grooving inserts are available with both a straight cutting edge and a full radius.
