Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen presents two new machining centers
Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH is exhibiting two new machining centers: the BA W08-12 with a large work area for structural components and the BA 322i (Fig.) with loading module, designed as a stand-alone cell.
The BA W08-12 is suitable for 4- and 5-axis machining and has a working area measuring 1,500 mm × 900 mm × 650 mm. "The single-spindle BA W08-12 is specially designed for machining large components," emphasizes Reiner Fries, Managing Director Sales at SW. "Like the other SW linear motor machines, it achieves higher dynamics than most competitor machines and therefore directly increases productivity." With the BAZ, the company is targeting customers from the automotive industry: Almost all car manufacturers have entered the series production of electrified vehicles and use large-format structural components made of light metals to further reduce weight.
The BA 322i twin-spindle machining center is a fully automated production cell for unmanned shifts. A loading module with integrated 6-axis robot and a pallet storage unit are mounted directly on the machine. With a spindle distance of 300 mm, the work area measures 300 mm × 450 mm × 375 mm. With this production cell, the company is targeting automotive suppliers or users from the medical technology and precision engineering sectors.
