New entry-level model

Okuma is positioning its 5-axis machining center Genos M460V-5AX, which is distributed by Hommel, as an entry-level model. The machining center can machine workpieces with a diameter of 600 mm, a height of 400 mm and a weight of 300 kg. The tool magazine has space for 48 tools.

The machining center from Okuma is equipped with a spindle that offers up to 15,000 min-1 at a maximum output of 22 kW and a maximum torque of 116 Nm. The five spindle bearings have their own oil mist lubrication. In addition to the cooling lubricant nozzles, there is also a cooling lubricant supply through the spindle. For measuring tasks, it has a Renishaw RMP60 touch probe. Machine precision is increased by applications such as the Machining Navi for vibration avoidance or the 5-axis auto-tuning system to compensate for geometric errors. This leads to a positioning accuracy of 2 µm in X, Y and Z.
