HPC milling cutter for high-alloy stainless steels

The Hoffmann Group has expanded its Garant Master product family for high-performance machining to include the Garant Master Inox M product line for high-alloy stainless steels in accordance with ISO M.

The new Garant Master Inox M HPC milling cutter and the Garant Master Inox M SlotMachine cord roughing cutter are said to be characterized by high cutting performance at high feed rates and double tool life, even in duplex. In order to achieve this special performance, the Hoffmann Group has used a newly developed ultra-fine grain substrate - which the company claims is an insider tip in the industry -, redesigned the multilayer coating and noticeably optimized the chip spaces. Due to its particular process reliability, the Garant Master Inox M SlotMachine is also the first choice for automated production. The tools are now available via the new 2020/2021 catalog and the manufacturer's e-shop.

The four-edged HPC milling cutter Garant Master Inox M is suitable for trimming and slot milling, but can also be used for other operations such as ramping, plunging and helical milling. Its optimized face geometry makes it extremely versatile. The specially prepared cutting edges produce a comparatively high surface quality and the chips are reliably removed thanks to the generously designed chip spaces. A variable helix pitch and a reinforced core diameter ensure particularly smooth running.

The Garant Master Inox M SlotMachine cord roughing cutter also enables very high feed rates for full slot milling with more than 1xD and can also machine delicate components efficiently. It also has five cutting edges for larger diameters. Its cord profile generates less cutting pressure and forms particularly compact chips, which are discharged via flat chip space troughs and do not get jammed in the narrow chip spaces, even with the five-cutter. Slightly rounded edges protect the cutting edges from chipping and thus increase the service life. Thanks to its high process reliability, this HPC milling cutter is also suitable for use in automated production.
