Stitching along a shoulder

Walter is launching the G3051-P grooving holder and MX22-2L/R indexable inserts specifically for grooving along a shoulder. A 3° inclined mounting position of the insert as well as the flat design of the grooving inserts on the component side enable deep grooving along a shoulder without axial contact of the flat surface by the grooving insert.

The grooving holder is available in shank sizes from 12 to 25 mm. The four-edged indexable inserts have been designed with the new GD8 or VG8 geometry. The VG8 geometry was specially developed for finishing behind a collar and is characterized by a smaller space requirement.

The grooving system can be used on sliding headstock and multi-spindle machines as well as automatic lathes. It allows grooving depths of up to 5 mm and grooving widths of 1.5 to 3 mm.
