Jakob Antriebstechnik improves the inner workings of mechanical power amplifiers and introduces the SC power clamping screw. The special feature is a special wedge clamping system that acts as a force amplifier.

This system enables high clamping forces with low tightening torques, simple manual operation and maximum operational safety. The SC series clamping screws are used in a wide range of applications, primarily in presses, punching presses and machine tools as well as in fixture construction and equipment design. Several sizes with graduated thread diameters and clamping forces are available. Due to its geometry, the wedge clamping system of this SC clamping screw is self-locking in every clamping position and offers a clamping stroke of up to three millimetres. This means that any clamping force up to the nominal value can be achieved, regardless of the tightening torque.

In addition to its standard series of clamping screws with thread diameters of M 36, M 48, M 64 and M 80 millimetres, the manufacturer is currently offering a new special SC 100 version. The maximum clamping force here is 250 kilonewtons with a thread of M 100x6 - and this with a tightening torque of just 130 Newton meters. This power pack is operated with just a 14-millimetre Allen key and is easy to handle; for reproducible clamping force values, it should be operated with a torque wrench to be on the safe side. pb
