Material for dynamic constructions
With Sustakon, Röchling is presenting an all-round material at the Z that is intended to offer new possibilities for the manufacture of components for plant and machinery.
Sustakon is a polyketone (PK) whose chemical structure offers a special combination of mechanical, chemical and tribological properties. Polyketone combines selected properties of various polymers such as polyamides, polyester, polyacetal and polyolefins. According to the company, this profile makes the material an all-rounder for various requirements and highlights the mechanical properties of Sustakon in particular.
The material has excellent resilience and is suitable for components that have to withstand permanent dynamic loads and high load changes, such as gear wheels or plain bearings. The low water absorption of 0.4 percent in a standard climate allows it to be used in environments where components may come into contact with moisture. With its resistance to aggressive chemical media, Sustakon can also be used in areas where components have to withstand long-term contact with chemical media. as
