With larger toggle lever
Knee lever enlarged
Common power clamps based on the toggle lever principle are actually real energy-destroying machines.
The cylinder size designed for the required clamping force is only required for a short time, namely at the end of the process.
The residual energy is wasted in the cylinder barrel, the supply lines and the upstream compressors. To counteract this, Tünkers has equipped the U-clamp with a mechanical trick: In the patent-pending system, the toggle joint is now larger and the pneumatic cylinder is correspondingly smaller. The savings effect is a good 30 percent, the manufacturer has calculated; one car manufacturer has already opted for this energy-saving technology in its new plant. pb
