Manual chain hoists from Kito

Hoists ensure maintenance in foundry

One of Germany's leading customer foundries specializes in the production of iron castings with ball force. Kito manual chain hoists are used for regular maintenance and servicing work on the modern production facilities.

Germany's foundries are essential for automotive and mechanical engineering, for the construction of agricultural and construction machinery and for the railroad industry. The industry's success is based on its expertise in developing precisely fitting molded castings for industry and producing them on time. The product quality of iron castings depends heavily on the production technology behind it. Forward-looking companies rely on modern, fully automated molding systems or robot-assisted deburring stations to deliver first-class components.

Expanding production with such modern systems requires great sensitivity and a feel for which components meet customer requirements. Regardless of whether the components need to have certain thermal, metallurgical or mechanical properties - all customer requirements with high standards must be met. State-of-the-art machines enable us to respond to increasing customer requirements and changing market conditions. And all this with consistently high quality castings.

In a company that works with modern machines, modern maintenance methods must also be used. For one of the leading foundries, Kito products are the right solution for all maintenance work. Thanks to advice from Klein Seil- und Hebetechnik, ratchet hoists from the Japanese company were used for the first time in 2015. "When I received the inquiry from the iron foundry, the solution was immediately obvious to me. Kito manual chain hoists impress with their fine adjustment and first-class gears. They are perfect for assembling and final assembly of new types of machine parts," says Steffen Büdenbender, technical consultant at Klein.

The foundry was quickly and easily equipped with the lifting equipment via the partner in order to make maintenance of the production facilities as simple as possible. "It's clear that maintenance and servicing work can slow down operations - this is particularly annoying when a spontaneous large order comes in. As I know how good, safe and easy it is to work with Kito chain hoists, I only recommended these products," explains Steffen Büdenbender. The entire foundry now works exclusively with products from the Japanese high-tech manufacturer and all assembly work is carried out with them.

The products defy the adverse conditions inside the foundry. Confined spaces, the dusty environment and the hot temperatures are no problem for the tools. The LB ratchet hoist is used there for heavy pulling, lifting and clamping applications. Equipped with a fine-toothed precision gear and additional inductive hardening of the load-bearing parts, the LB has a lower weight and reduced size compared to other products on the market.

With the ultra-light and compact Kito LX ratchet hoist, demanding tasks such as lifting, pulling and positioning small loads can be carried out effortlessly. The CF manual chain hoist feels particularly at home in the harsh and aggressive foundry environment - it is equipped with a robust, enclosed aluminum housing and is used for targeted maintenance work, repairs and renovations. The Kito CX mini chain hoist is also in demand for complicated assembly work in the plant and ensures increased productivity and a low workload for employees. as
