Solid-state laser cutting head improves piercing

With the Ex-Trabeam Pro, Thermacut presents its solid-state laser cutting head with autofocus. The cutting head is suitable for modern, powerful laser cutting machines equipped with a solid-state beam source that operate in a wavelength range from 1030 to 1130 nm and a power of up to 8 kW.

With this cutting head, Thermacut offers users of modern laser cutting machines an optimized laser cutting head with an autofocus function that improves penetration into the material. Thanks to the user-friendly service concept, the unit enables optics components to be changed quickly and easily by trained and certified system engineers in a flow box, which minimizes contamination on the optics.

Ex-Trabeam Pro works with a collimation focal length of 100 mm and focusing focal lengths of 125 mm, 150 mm, 175 mm or 200 mm. The cutting gas pressure is max. 25 bar.

The Ex-Trabeam Pro has a high level of mechanical sealing, including "Smart Protection" seal monitoring to protect the optical components. The front-operated beam adjustment makes horizontal adjustment true to the axis very easy and precise. In contrast to other commercially available systems, the capacitive scanning of this product is not susceptible to temperature drifts. The laser cutting head therefore enables precise distance measurements. Even with high beam power and long operating times, the distance to the workpiece remains stable, resulting in better cutting results.

As Thermacut has deliberately minimized the expensive electronics, the sensor insert can be replaced as a crash-relevant component at low spare part costs. The company also supplies wear parts and optics from a single source. The cutting head was developed in cooperation with Scansonic from Berlin, a company specializing in laser welding and laser soldering.
