Software specialists Tset and Hexagon enter into cooperation
Simulation of sheet metal processing
Hexagon's Forming Suite technology is now integrated into Tset's software. Customers of the two technology companies can now simulate the sheet metal forming process as well as the associated costs andCO2 emissions in one system.
Tset is the technology leader for software-based product cost andCO2 analysis in the manufacturing industry. With Forming Suite, Hexagon offers software for blank development, nesting and method planning for sheet metal stampings. With the combination of both systems, the companies present a time-saving tool for optimizing the development and production of sheet metal components. Building on the specialized tools for defining downstream and transfer processes in Forming Suite, a virtual supply chain can be created in the Tset software to calculate costs andCO2 emissions.
This solution makes work easier for customers from the automotive and heavy machinery industries, for example. "Based on a 3D file or shape, users can very quickly calculate the costs andCO2 emissions for progressive and transfer components. This is a fully-fledged bottom-up simulation that can be flexibly adapted to specific supplier scenarios," explains Thomas Muskalla, Chief Product Officer at Tset. Jessica Zheng, Senior Director of Virtual Manufacturing & Costing at Hexagon, adds: "By working together, we offer our customers the opportunity to combine our sheet metal stamping expertise with Tset's comprehensive solution for planning all aspects of manufacturing and sustainability."
