Smart lasers for intelligent production

On October 15, the annual expert meeting "LaserForum", initiated by the IVAM Microtechnology Association, will take place at Trumpf in Ditzingen. "Smart lasers for intelligent production" is the theme of the event.

Laser processes are often simpler and faster than conventional mechanical manufacturing processes and are ideal for digitized and individualized production. They are more suitable for highly customized products than, for example, parallel etching processes or moulding processes that have been developed for a large number of identical products.

The presentations at the LaserForum will cover topics such as 3D printing on the moon, laser structuring in liquids and printed electronics. Three sessions will focus on technologies for smart lasers, intelligent laser production systems and laser applications in the field of microtechnology and microelectronics. During the event, there will be an opportunity to visit the laser production facility at Trumpf.

The event is aimed at manufacturers of optical or electronic components and laser systems, users of laser systems for production or measurement processes and manufacturers or users of material processing systems who are interested in decentralized, individualized, automated production methods.

As part of the series of events, selected issues and trends relating to the use of laser technology in various application sectors are presented in detail once a year. Partners of the event are the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, the Laser Zentrum Hannover and the Chair of Laser Application Technology (LAT) at the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) as well as the host Trumpf Laser- und Systemtechnik.
