Wera founds Tool Rebel Junior Academy for young tinkerers
Tool manufacturer Wera is known for challenging standards and presenting surprising new ideas. The company wants to convey this inventive spirit, coupled with a great passion and enthusiasm for creative innovations, to young people. To this end, the Tool Rebel Junior Academy has now been founded, which is aimed at the age group between twelve and 18. Any young person who has tinkering and inventing in their blood can take part in the Academy's calls for applications online.
" Wera 's Tool Rebels are known for constantly questioning standards and looking for new solutions," says Detlef Seyfarth, Head of Marketing at the company. "That's why we want to motivate young people to think just as differently as we do and turn the tried and tested on its head. Anyone in this age group who wants to show an inventive spirit is welcome."
It does not have to be about tools; what is important is that the participants have solved a problem as an individual or group in an unusual way. A concrete result should have been achieved, which is documented in the form of videos or photos.
The solution can be submitted on the homepage under the menu item "Scholarship" together with an application form. The best idea will be rewarded with a scholarship of 3,000 euros, half of which will be paid out in cash and half in a tool of your choice.
From now on, the tool specialist will award the scholarship once every quarter, with the rights to the ideas remaining with the applicants. An independent jury from Wuppertal Junior Uni will select the winner. This is an extracurricular teaching and research institution that is unique in Germany and offers exciting courses in experimentation and research for young people aged between four and 20 and promotes the joy of learning. The next application deadline is June 30, 2019.
