Trade fair canceled: AMB 2020 will take place as a forum
AMB in Stuttgart will not be held as a traditional trade fair this year. Instead, a forum with an accompanying table-top exhibition is to be held from 14 to 18 September 2020. The next regular AMB is not planned until 2022.
Messe Stuttgart has surveyed its exhibitors and the results have clearly shown that there is not a sufficient basis for an AMB trade fair this year, but that there is definitely interest in a format in Stuttgart this fall, the trade fair announced. Messe Stuttgart is therefore planning an AMB Forum for the first time during the current AMB week (September 14-18, 2020). With industry-specific specialist presentations at the ICS - International Congress Center Stuttgart, an accompanying table-top exhibition and various matchmaking offers, the aim is to bring together industry players who are interested in and need a platform in the autumn.
The next AMB will take place in Stuttgart from September 13 to 17, 2022. "The new trade fair date creates planning security for everyone involved in the current difficult economic environment. Messe Stuttgart actively involved the exhibitors and the conceptual sponsoring associations VDMA Precision Tools Association, VDMA Software and Digitalization Association and VDW German Machine Tool Builders' Association in this important decision," the trade fair announced in its press release.
Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director and CEO of Messe Stuttgart emphasizes: "Thanks to the exhibitors' vote, we have received a clear mandate and can put an end to the speculation about the feasibility of AMB 2020. At the present time, with all the requirements regarding hygiene, social distancing and restricted travel options as well as the current economic conditions, an AMB as we know it is not feasible this year."
"The project team will now immediately start designing and planning the first AMB Forum and begin preparations for AMB 2022," adds Gunnar Mey, Head of the Industry Department at Messe Stuttgart. Mey emphasizes: "Our goal is to realize a successful format together with the interested exhibitors. We are looking forward to the exchange with the industry on this and the personal encounters in September." as
