Mitsubishi Electric buys Astes4

Mitsubishi Electric has acquired Astes4, a Swiss manufacturer of automatic sheet metal sorting systems, and is expanding its range of automation systems to include sorting solutions for laser processing machines.

The Swiss company Astes4 develops, produces and sells patented automatic sorting solutions for laser sheet metal processing machines. The sheet metal sorting systems can be easily integrated into Mitsubishi Electric's laser processing machines and therefore offer greater productivity with less effort.

The laser processing of sheet metal includes loading and unloading the material, laser cutting as well as removing and sorting the blanks. The global shortage of skilled workers and the high throughput of laser cutting machines have led to a surge in demand for sorting solutions. Significant increases in productivity can be achieved by automating sheet metal processing, including pre- and post-processing.

Astes4 offers flexible automated sorting solutions for various materials. These solutions are based on our own patented technology and our expertise in system engineering enables the integration of entire automation systems.

With this acquisition, Mitsubishi Electric is expanding its range of automation systems to include sorting solutions for laser processing machines. The automation specialist's customers benefit from complete solutions with reduced effort for manual loading, unloading and sorting. as
