Series applications for additive manufacturing
Jon Meyer is the new Chief Product Officer at APWorks
APWorks, an industry provider of 3D printing services and products, has appointed Jon Meyer as its new Chief Product Officer. In his new position, Jon Meyer will be responsible for the strategic and technical development of series applications for additive manufacturing.
Meyer joins APWorks after more than ten years at Airbus, where in his last position as Technology Roadmap Owner Additive Manufacturing Processes he was responsible for defining the technology vision and strategy globally, overseeing a broad range of technology requirements and applications across commercial and military aerospace products, helicopters and satellites. Prior to that, he led the central research and technology team responsible for the development of additive manufacturing at Airbus Group, where he developed a high level of expertise in a wide range of additive manufacturing processes, with a focus on powder bed based melting and Directed Energy Deposition.
As Chief Product Officer, Meyer will strengthen the management team with his extensive technical expertise and strategic know-how. His new role is the next logical step for Meyer as he expands his responsibilities to include the development of practical applications in additive manufacturing. Together with the APWorks team, he will devote much of his time and effort to driving the development of independent product innovations with high added value for additive manufacturing.
"I'm excited to join APWorks and look forward to shaping the future of manufacturing," says Jon Meyer. "In my time working on technology strategies, I've developed a deep understanding of the value proposition of additive manufacturing, and I'm excited for the opportunity to turn those insights into products - we'll keep you posted!"
