Industry 4.0 Innovation Award for Weidmüller

Weidmüller has been honored with the Industry 4.0 Innovation Award for its Automated Machine Learning Tool. Chief Technology Officer Volker Bibelhausen and Tobias Gaukstern, Head of the Industrial Analytics business unit, accepted the award on November 26 at the Detmold-based company's stand at smart production solutions in Nuremberg.

"We are delighted that our innovative software solution won over the jury and the community and that we won this coveted award by a large margin," says Bibelhausen. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Analytics team and, of course, everyone who voted for our software." The Industry 4.0 Innovation Award was announced and presented for the fourth time in 2019 by VDE Verlag in collaboration with ZVEI and the Industry 4.0 Standardization Council.

Products and innovations that make a profitable or supportive contribution in connection with Industry 4.0 are eligible for the award.

With the Automated Machine Learning Tool,Weidmüller offers software that domain experts can use to create ML models independently - without any special knowledge in the field of machine learning (ML). "Our vision with the Automated Machine Learning Tool is to democratize the use of AI and ML in the industry. The vote confirms the need for easy-to-use ML solutions and gives us additional momentum for further development," adds Gaukstern.
