Mack Brooks Exhibitions has announced the postponement of EuroBLECH, which was scheduled to take place from October 27 - 30, 2020 at the Hannover Exhibition Centre. The new date for the next EuroBLECH, the 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, is March 9-12, 2021.

This decision was made after extensive discussions with all exhibitors and partners over the past weeks and months. The majority of those involved were in favor of not holding the trade fair in October in view of the current Covid-19 crisis. Uncertainties surrounding travel restrictions were also a concern of many participants in order to preserve the international character of EuroBLECH.

Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of event organizer Mack Brooks Exhibitions, says: "The past few months have been very challenging, especially for the sheet metal working industry and related industrial sectors. We have seen a sharp decline in orders for capital goods and many companies are telling us about their efforts to deal with the impact of Covid-19. Although we recently received approval from the state of Lower Saxony for our safety concept for EuroBLECH in October 2020, we have therefore decided to postpone EuroBLECH until spring 2021."

EuroBLECH Digital Innovation Summit in October

According to recent surveys, EuroBLECH participants have a high need to network and do business to drive the industry's recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. EuroBLECH will therefore offer a virtual platform for the global sheet metal working industry in October. "Following feedback from our exhibitors and visitors that they would like to attend an event, even if not in person, we will be organizing a Digital Innovation Summit during the scheduled show dates of 27 - 30 October. The Digital Innovation Summit will provide a platform for our exhibitors to showcase their latest machines and solutions and hold virtual meetings with international visitors," Hamann continues.
