Close cooperation between VDE and State Grid China

Dr. SHU Yinbiao, CEO of State Grid China, and Ansgar Hinz, CEO of the technology association VDE, will further intensify their cooperation. The two organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding in Beijing to this end.

The aim is to promote common goals in the key areas of science, education, testing and application and to expand German-Chinese cooperation in forward-looking technologies such as smart energy, cybersecurity and smart mobility. To this end, the contractual partners are aiming for regular exchanges and close cooperation between teams of experts.

State Grid China and the VDE will start with projects in the fields of smart energy and smart mobility. Both contractual partners will draw on their expertise in the integration and standardization of renewable energies, grid codes, grid control and storage systems. The VDE also advises on aspects of bankability and insurability of products in the field of renewable energies and storage systems. In the field of electromobility, the VDE contributes to the partnership with its expertise in standardization, testing and certification of energy storage systems (ESS), charging infrastructure and the evaluation of billing systems.

"State Grid China has more than 120,000 experts in research and development. The VDE draws on the comprehensive expertise of over 30,000 renowned experts in science, standardization, testing and certification as well as application consulting. We also maintain close relationships with over 300 universities worldwide. Together, we complement each other ideally in many areas of digital future technologies," said Ansgar Hinz in Beijing.
