BDI President Russwurm visits Pilz
Short paths for technology and knowledge transfer
The automation company Pilz welcomed the President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) Siegfried Russwurm. During a tour of the family-run company's development, test laboratories and production facilities, he emphasized how important the transfer of knowledge between the individual trades is for strengthening Germany as an industrial location.
Siegfried Russwurm was very impressed by the short distances at the Ostfildern headquarters. "Development, test field and production are united here at one location. That is a guarantee of quality. To ensure that Germany remains a country of industry, exports and innovation, we want to strengthen medium-sized and family-run companies in particular." How? Promote dialog within the industrial partners and make bold use of new innovative technologies.
"Pilz is one of the companies that has always set milestones in its field. Safety in industry is associated with the Pilz name worldwide. These medium-sized, family-run companies are demonstrably responsible for the success of German industry," emphasized the BDI President.
Susanne Kunschert, Managing Partner of Pilz, gave a tour of the company. The family-run company, with a 75-year history, develops and sells safe automation solutions worldwide. With an export share of over
70 percent, Pilz is an ambassador for safety in automation.
