Atlas Copco takes over IPV

In January, Atlas Copco acquired the German company Industrie-Pumpen Vertriebs GmbH (IPV) based in Dresden. The company specializes in gear, centrifugal, piston and peristaltic pumps for industrial users, mainly from the chemical industry. With around 20 employees, IPV generated a turnover of around 5 million euros in 2017.

The acquired company will be integrated into the Power and Flow division within the Energy Technology Group area and will legally be a subsidiary of the German Atlas Copco Holding. The purchase price is subordinated in relation to Atlas Copco 's market capitalization and will not be disclosed.

IPV distributes industrial pumps from the Varisco, Saxmag, Pompe Cucchi, Hermag, Salvatore Robuschi and Ragazzini brands. The Swedish industrial group acquired the Italian pump manufacturer Varisco in 2015. "With this acquisition, we are further expanding our pump business and strengthening our presence in Western Europe, particularly for the chemical industry," says Andrew Walker, President of the Energy Technology Division.
